Champions League

Round of 32 Predictions

Brest vs PSG

It’s a Ligue 1 battle as both sides look to advance to the last 16. Both sides took 13 points during the league phase, but it was the scoring power of PSG that gave them the seeded position in the tie.

Domestically it’s 1-way traffic as PSG leads by 10 points and remains undefeated in the league, while Brest sit in 8th place, and have lost in the league 10 times so far this season.

The 2 sides met just 10 days ago, with PSG taking a 5-2 away victory. I see no reason not to expect to see more of the same again here and I predict a PSG win in a contest where both teams find the net. Check our Brest vs PSG markets here.

Prediction – PSG 1x2 & Both Teams to Score @2.68

Manchester City vs Real Madrid

After a lacklustre 2-1 win away to Leyton Orient at the weekend the competition strengthens for Manchester City as they host Real Madrid at the Etihad.

Manchester City looked to have found some of their scoring power, finding the net 27 times in their last 8 games. Despite facing some tough opposition, they have also conceded 12 times in the last 5 games, including a 5-1 loss to Arsenal last week.

Even with a decimated defence, Real Madrid are always likely to perform on the big stage. 6 wins in their last 8 games demonstrate why they remain one of the favourites for the competition. While there are arguments for both teams to get the win here, I see value in a scoring draw. Check our Manchester City vs Real Madrid markets here.

Prediction – Draw 1x2 & Over 1.5 Goals @4.25

Club Brugge vs Atalanta

Despite a 3-1 loss to Manchester City on the final matchday, Club Brugge squeezed into the knockout stages in 24th place. Domestically it has been a decent season for Brugge so far, currently lying in 2nd place and 6 points behind leaders Genk.

For Atalanta a top 8 spot was within their grasp after a dramatic 2-2 draw with Barcelona in the final matchday. Domestically Atalanta have a firm grip on 3rd place after an impressive 5-0 away win against Verona last weekend.

While I favour Atalanta in this tie, I feel that the first leg will be cagey with the hosts keeping it tight. I predict a low-scoring affair. Check our Club Brugge vs Atalanta markets here.

Prediction – Under 2.25 goals @2.17

Celtic vs Bayern Munich

Celtic will have almost a full squad available ahead of this huge tie, with just James Forrest out with injury. Conversely Bayern Munich will be without the likes of Hiroki Ito, Daniel Peretz and Joao Palhinha, while both Alphonso Davies and Serge Gnabry are on the verge of returns.

Both sides have been thriving domestically and are top of their respective leagues. Bayern are currently on a 7-game win streak in the Bundesliga while Celtic have won 5 of their last league games.

There is no doubt in the gap in quality between the 2 sides but Brendan Rogers may prove tough to beat at home. I expect Bayern to be on the front foot all game but Celtic are more than capable of holding their own. Check our Celtic vs Bayern Munich markets here.

Prediction – Celtic +1.25 @2.11
