PREMIER LEAGUE - WEEK 10
Newcastle vs Arsenal
Arsenal will be looking to improve on their recent league form as they make the trip to Newcastle. The Gunners have had only 1 league win in October, beating Southampton 3-1, but have since lost 2-0 away to Bournemouth and drew 2-2 at home to Liverpool. Mikel Artetas men have conceded 9 goals in their last 5 league games, which is more than in their previous 19 games combined.
Eddie Howes Newcastle will look to improve on their own Premier League woes, having picked up 2 points from their last 5 games. Newcastle also have a good home record against Arsenal, having won 2 of their last 3 games against them. I expect to see both sides going for the win in what should be a high scoring affair. Prediction – Over 2.75 goals @2.05
Liverpool vs Brighton
Arne Slot will look to continue his sides’ imperious Premier League form as they host Brighton at Anfield. The Reds currently sit in 2nd place after 9 games with just Man City sitting above them by a single point. A 1-0 loss to Forest in week 4 and a hard-fought 2-2 draw against fellow league challengers Arsenal was all that stood between a perfect start for Slots men.
They face a Brighton side who have also started well and lie 6th in the league with 16 points The Seagulls are unbeaten in their last 3 game but face a tough test if they are to extend that to 4.
There has not been much to separate these 2 sides in recent season with both teams carrying a record of 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses. It’s hard to see how Brighton will stop the Reds here, but I expect them to score in what should be a high-scoring Liverpool win. Check our Liverpool vs Brighton markets here.
Prediction – Liverpool 1x2 and Both Teams to Score @2.40
Wolves vs Crystal Palace
It was looking like another defeat for Gary O’Neill’s Wolves side when they went 2-0 down to Brighton last weekend, but they were able to battle to a 2-2 draw in what was a thrilling game. This could be the turning point in their season as the fixture difficulty decreases and they begin to target more wins.
For Crystal Palace it has bee a miserable start to the season also, but they too look like they’re getting their campaign back on track after beating Spurs 1-0 last weekend, their first league win.
Wolves have found the net in their last 10 games in all competitions and their attacking pair of Cunha and Larson look to be finding form. I think home advantage will be enough to see Wolves get over the line. Check our Wolves vs Crystal Palace markets here.
Prediction – Wolves 1x2 @2.50
Tottenham vs Aston Villa
Despite a surprise loss to Crystal Palace last weekend, Tottenham followed up with an impressive 2-1 win over Man City in the EFL cup midweek. Spurs will be hoping Son will be available this weekend after missing the last few games due to a muscle injury.
The Villains, on the other hand, will feel that they have dropped 2 points when they drew 1-1 with Bournemouth at the weekend. Unai Emerys men still lie in 4th place in the league and will be hoping to remain there after this game.
Villa have been exceptional on the road so far this season, taking 10 of 12 available points while Spurs have 9 out of 12 at home. I expect this to be a tight encounter with very little to separate both teams. Check our Tottenham vs Aston Villa markets here.
Prediction – Draw @3.95
Man Utd vs Chelsea
It’s the beginning of a new era at Man Utd after the sacking of manager Erik Ten Hag earlier in the week. Since then, Ruud Van Nistelrooy has taken charge as interim manger in which they beat Leicester 5-2 in the EFL cup. Ruben Amorim looks set to take the job eventually but for now Van Nistelrooy is the one tasked with a huge recovery job.
Liverpool and Tottenham have already left Old Trafford with 3-0 league wins and Chelsea will be looking for a win of their own when they make the trip on Sunday. The Blues are also prone to a bad season as of later, but the signs have been promising for the Blues so far this season despite crashing out of the EFL cup midweek.
United have only won 4 of their 13 games so far this season, and while the new manager may bring a positive vibe in the club, I think they will struggle against a Chelsea side under Maresca who are heading in the opposite direction. Check our Man Utd vs Chelsea markets here.
Prediction – Chelsea 1x2 @2.52
