PREMIER LEAGUE - WEEK 13
Brighton vs Southampton
Brighton will be hoping to make it 3 consecutive Premier League wins as they host Southampton at the American Express Stadium. Joao Pedro was on fine form for the Seagulls scoring and assisting in a 2-1 win at Bournemouth.
For Southampton, the return to the Premier League has not gone as hoped, with the Saints sitting at the bottom of the table with 4 points after suffering their 10th defeat in 12 games 3-2 to Liverpool last time out.
It’s hard to back against the hosts in this one and with five of their last six meetings producing 3 or more goals I’m tipping a high-scoring Brighton win. Check our Brighton vs Southampton markets here.
Prediction – Brighton 1x2 & both teams to score @2.50
Crystal Palace vs Newcastle
With just 1 win in 12 and sitting 19th in the Premier League, it’s been an opening third of the season to forget for Crystal Palace. The hosts also have the 4th worst home record in the Premier League so far. The Eagles are also without a clean sheet in their last 4 games conceding 7 goals.
For Newcastle, it’s been a mixed bag of results. A surprise loss at home to West Ham last time out spoiled what would have been 3 consecutive Premier League wins. The Magpies lie in 10th in the league but are just 4 points off a Champions League spot.
This fixture has a history of low-scoring results, with 7 of their last 9 meetings yielding 2 or fewer goals, and I expect to see more of the same again. Check our Crystal Palace vs Newcastle markets here.
Prediction – Under 2.25 goals @2.41
West Ham vs Arsenal
Both sides come into this game off the back of impressive results. The Hammers recorded a shock 2-0 win away to Newcastle last time out while the Gunners thrashed Sporting CP 5-1 midweek in the Champions League.
The pressure will be on Arsenal not to fall further behind league leaders Liverpool who are currently 9 points ahead of them. For West Ham, they will look to improve on their below-average home record this season which includes 2 wins from 6.
For that reason, it is hard to argue against an Arsenal win, and considering the hosts lost this fixture 6-0 last season I am going for a comfortable away win. Check our West Ham vs Arsenal markets here.
Prediction – Arsenal -1.5 @2.28
Manchester Utd vs Everton
It hasn’t been the fairytale start for Manchester Utd under new manager Ruben Amorim who saw his side held to a 1-1 draw in his first game in charge. This result leaves them 12th in the league and a start to the season to forget.
Their opponents have recovered from 4 straight defeats at the start of the season and have only lost 1 of their last 8. Despite this they have not found their scoring boots yet, scoring only 5 times in their last 8, however, they have kept a clean sheet in their last 2.
For the hosts, I feel if the players can improve and adapt to the new manager’s style of play then they should have no problem getting the win here. I’m going for a low-scoring Manchester Utd win here. Check our Manchester Utd vs Everton markets here.
Prediction – Manchester Utd 1x2 & under 3.5 goals @2.24
Liverpool vs Manchester City
League leaders Liverpool host struggling Manchester City at Anfield in a highly anticipated clash on Sunday. A win for Arne Slot’s men would see them extend their lead over the champions to 11 points, and with 22 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw this season it’s hard to bet against it.
For Manchester City, it has been an unprecedented crisis. They followed up 5 consecutive losses with a 3-3 draw against Feyenoord mid-week in which they squandered a 3-0 lead. The loss of Rodri to injury looks to have taken its toll, but the return of Kevin De Bruyne may give them some positivity.
Liverpool could not have picked a better time to play the champions, and I expect them to win in what should be a high-scoring affair. Check our Liverpool vs Manchester City markets here.
Prediction – Liverpool 1x2 & Over 2.5 goals @2.76
