PREMIER LEAGUE - WEEK 14
Man City vs Nottingham Forest
Manchester City are in a rare slump, enduring a seven-match winless run (D1, L6), the longest of Pep Guardiola’s career. Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Liverpool dropped them 11 points off the Premier League summit and out of the top four. Despite this, the Etihad remains a stronghold, with just one recent defeat there (4-0 v Tottenham), though Forest’s history of every third win in the blue side of Manchester H2Hs since 1993 might intrigue hopefuls! Forest, buoyed by a 1-0 win over Ipswich via Chris Wood’s penalty, aim to defy the odds despite a 3-0 loss to Arsenal breaking their solid away streak (W5, D2). Prediction: Forest +1.5 @ 1.84
Arsenal vs Manchester Utd
Arsenal and Manchester United are set to reignite one of the Premier League’s classic rivalries on Wednesday. The Gunners enter the clash in flying form, scoring 3+ goals in three consecutive post-international break victories, including a 5-2 triumph over West Ham. Unbeaten in 12 home games (W10, D2), Arsenal aim to make history by winning a fourth straight league match against United for the first time. Conversely, Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United are rejuvenated under their new boss, claiming a 4-0 victory over Everton last time out. However, with no away wins in six matches and seven defeats in their last nine visits to the Emirates, the Red Devils face a significant challenge.
We feel that United could cause an upset here. Check our Arsenal vs Manchester Utd markets here.
Prediction: Utd +1 @ 2.19
Newcastle vs Liverpool
Newcastle United’s confidence is waning after a tough week saw them lose 2-0 to West Ham and concede a late equalizer in a 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace. While St. James’ Park has been a fortress this season with only one defeat in 15 games, Newcastle’s 15-match winless streak against Liverpool (D4, L11) looms over this clash. Meanwhile, Liverpool are in stellar form under Arne Slot, having defeated both Manchester City and Real Madrid 2-0 in the same week. Now nine points clear atop the Premier League, the Reds boast the league’s best defence but have shown cracks, conceding two goals in each of their last three away games. Nonetheless, they are now heavy jollies to win the League (1.67 and shorter) and we don’t expect the train to derail here. Check our Newcastle vs Liverpool markets here.
Prediction: Liverpool 1x2 @ 1.79
