PREMIER LEAGUE - WEEK 22

Newcastle vs Bournemouth

Newcastle United come into this in great form having won their last six Premier League matches. Going further back they've scored two or more goals in their last eight league games which bodes well for an exciting opening to Gameweek 22.

Bournemouth make the long journey north unbeaten in ten games in all competitions (W6, D4) and the odds on the home side winning (1.645), look very short to me.

The Magpies are winless across the last five league head-to-heads (D4, L1) and have never kept a clean sheet against the Cherries in six Premier League games at St James’ Park. Check our Newcastle vs Bournemouth markets here.

Prediction – Over 3/ 3.5 @ 2.12

Arsenal vs Aston Villa

A come-from-behind win in the North London derby on Wednesday has reignited Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes, lifting them to within four points of leaders Liverpool, albeit having played a game more. Though results have dipped for the Gunners in the last month, they are unbeaten in their last 11 outings (W7, D4). The home side remain unbeaten at the Emirates Stadium this season, their last loss being the corresponding fixture against Aston Villa back in April.

Emery takes his Villa side to his former stomping ground happy to put December behind them. A 1-0 victory over Everton was their third by a one-goal margin in succession across all competitions and saw them climb into the top-seven. Again, I think the visiting team have a chance of getting a positive result here. Check our Arsenal vs Aston Villa markets here.

Prediction – Draw @ 4.20

Manchester United vs Brighton

Amad Diallo rescued the home side on Thursday night with an inspired 12-minute hat trick which saved the Red Devils from suffering four home losses in a row. A hugely disjointed performance against the worst team in the league has raised more questions about when/if the new managers philosophy will eventually kick in.

The arrival of Brighton will not fill the home side with confidence as if there has been a bogey team for them over the last few years, it has been the Seagulls. United have lost five of the last six league H2Hs (W1) and will need to up their performance on Sunday.

Brighton beat Ipswich 2-0 on Thursday night, ending an eight-match winless run in the Premier League that stretched back to November (D6, L2). They will have no fear of Old Trafford and I fancy them to take all three points. Check our Manchester United vs Brighton markets here.

Prediction – Brighton 1x2 @ 3.45

Ipswich vs Manchester City

Manchester City dropped a two-goal advantage late in the game against Brentford on Tuesday night, turning three points into one. The invincibility of the last few years has been lost very quickly this season. The Citizens are 12 points behind leaders Liverpool who have a game in hand.

The Tractor boys will sense that the visitors are vulnerable and will attack their weaknesses. Some of the defending against Brentford was not what you would expect of champions. I can see the home side getting a result. Check our Ipswich vs Manchester City markets here.

Prediction – Ipswich 1x2 @ 8.00

Chelsea vs Wolves

Chelsea will look to end their five-match winless run in the Premier League when they host Wolves at Stamford Bridge on Monday. Enzo Maresca’s side cruised to a 5-0 win in the FA Cup against Morecambe at the weekend to secure their first win of 2025. However, the Blues failed to build on that momentum in midweek and needed an injury-time equaliser from Reece James to secure a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.

Wolves had initially improved new manager Vitor Pereira but two consecutive 3-0 defeats and knocked their confidence. The return of Matheus Cunha will help and they desperately need to stop the rot that has dragged them back into a relegation dogfight. Check our Chelsea vs Wolves markets here.

Prediction – Over 3.5 @ 2.00
